One of the most satisfying experiences for us, when touring, is taking people to places that are significant to them and their families.
Our bespoke ancestry tours of Scotland have taken us all over the country including the islands, we have also taken clients to Northumberland and Northern Ireland and we are happy to take you to destinations throughout England, Ireland and Wales. We will take you to the places your ancestors once stood, showing people around their ancestral homelands is a real pleasure.
Some of our ancestry tours have been as little as one day, visiting sites around Edinburgh and the lowlands but the majority are extended tours and include other sights.
Whether you’ve already researched your family history and know where you want to go or want to trace your family name we can help. We work with a talented genealogist, Gillian Alexander, who is based in Edinburgh. We have worked with her on many projects and are happy to pass on her details if you need help finding ancestry records before your arrival.

Case Study – Bruce & Holly Southard, Scottish Ancestry Trip 2019
This was a trip of a lifetime for Bruce and Holly and we made it a great success. We were so happy to be part of it!
Bruce and Holly, from Lodi, California contacted us in the winter of 2018 with plans for a trip to Scotland in the summer of 2019. They wanted to visit some of their ancestral sites. We worked with them by email, first getting a list of the places they wanted to visit. Bruce had already done some research into the areas where his ancestors lived and worked, which were Fife, Perthshire and Angus including the towns of Strathmiglo, Abernethy, Perth and Dundee. We also found Hill of Dron (pictured below), where Bruce’s ancestor was a sheep farmer. Holly’s ancestors also came from Scotland, but they were from the South West around Kintyre and Campbeltown. We visited Tarbet, the Mull of Kintyre and Southend (church pictured below) Holly’s ancestors were involved in the building of the church in 1774. We organised lovely accommodation in Dunkeld for three nights and Tarbet for two nights. We visited all the sites on their list and we also had time to visit other sites of general interest which gave them a more in-depth idea about how their ancestors lived.
